Exploring how electricity transform London into a differen tworld.

After nearly two weeks of research and literature review, I was moved by the following stanza from the poem, 'Leisure', written by William Henry Davies, I went out onto the street of London with a camera and my heart. "What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare" I set myself a challenge to capture images that reflect both the poem and the the true spirit of London; multicultural, exortic, modern, artistic, and above all, presence of the pigeons among us.

Walking down the High Streets in London, I can see many things inside the shop fronts that ignite a battle within me against the greed, lust & pride of owning them. Mesmerized to see what anyone can buy with money these days, I started to wonder ‘is there anything at all that money cannot buy?’. I found, - the peacefulness of a sound sleep, - joy of a bike ride, - sense of taste to enjoy a delicious ice-cream & - sense of humour that makes our ordinary day pricelessly enjoyable were a few things that money could not buy.

Within 2miles radius from where I live, Clarence Gardens, I travelled in different directions to answer my quest for what most people today are busy with on a lovely Saturday. I found majority of us are so much addicted to technical gadgets, for instance phones, cameras, etc. All the places I travelled for my project, I was also mesmerised with the significant reach of London Buses and Cabs. Based on the initial observations, I decided to capture images that have some elements or traces of London Buses & Cabs to convey the message from my initial findings.
